Responsibilities:
* Manage the accounts payable process by ensuring purchase orders are in place according to internal guidelines, processing invoices, and organising timely payments for review by the Finance Director.
* Maintain accurate vendor master data within SAP, ensuring all information is up-to-date and compliant with company policies.
* Validate employee expenses using CONCUR in line with internal guidelines before posting transactions into SAP.
* Post bank transactions efficiently and accurately as part of daily financial operations.
* Monitor and action requests received via the finance mailbox, responding promptly to queries from both external and internal customers with empathy and professionalism.
* Support other business functions with finance-related queries concerning accounts payable processes, assisting the Finance Director in identifying and implementing improvements.
* Assist with month-end activities including budget reviews with budget holders, posting accruals and prepayments, reconciling balance sheet items such as bank and stock balances, preparing monthly UK finance reports for global reporting purposes.
* Contribute to financial planning and analysis by supporting quarterly reforecasting exercises and annual business plan processes alongside the Finance Director.
* Help evolve data analytics capabilities within the UK organisation by participating in data testing, maintenance tasks, and liaising with internal or external partners as needed.
* Oversee fleet management responsibilities including relationship management with third-party vendors, car ordering logistics, delivery coordination to employees, vehicle returns at lease end, and driver safety management according to company policies.
The Ideal Candidate:
* AAT qualification or ACCA part-qualification is essential for this role as it demonstrates your foundational knowledge of accounting principles.
* At least two years’ experience working within a finance setting is required so you can confidently handle complex transactional processes.
* Familiarity with financial systems such as COUPA, CONCUR or SAP would be advantageous for streamlining workflow efficiency.
* Experience collating tax-relevant data for HMRC submissions is desirable as it supports compliance requirements within the organisation.
* Excellent communication skills are necessary for interacting effectively with colleagues across departments as well as external partners.
* A curious mindset combined with initiative enables you to identify areas for process improvement while supporting wider business objectives.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously ensures deadlines are met without compromising accuracy or quality of work.
