Dance Teacher (GCSE) - Maternity Cover, Fareham
Are you an experienced Dance Teacher with a real passion for bringing movement and creativity to life in the classroom? Do you love inspiring young people, helping them grow in confidence, and guiding them through both the practical and theoretical sides of Dance?
Prospero Teaching is delighted to be supporting a friendly, mainstream secondary school in Fareham. You’ll be teaching Dance across KS3 and KS4, with responsibility for delivering both practical lessons and GCSE Dance theory. This is a fantastic opportunity to share your subject knowledge and enthusiasm while guiding students through the GCSE curriculum and syllabus.

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 08:00am-16:00pm.
What you’ll be doing
· Delivering engaging and creative Dance lessons across KS3 and KS4
· Teaching GCSE Dance theory, ensuring students are confident with the syllabus and exam requirements
· Inspiring students to develop both technical skills and academic understanding
· Creating a safe, inclusive classroom where every student feels valued
· Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external partners to support student progress
· Celebrating achievements in both performance and theory
What we’re looking for
· A qualified teacher (QTS) with experience teaching Dance in secondary schools
· Previous experience teaching GCSE Dance, with strong knowledge of the curriculum and syllabus
· Someone who can balance creativity with academic rigour
· A reflective, resilient team player with excellent communication skills
· A strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing

· Location: Fareham
· Start date: January 2026
· Contract: Maternity cover (long-term)
· Salary: MPS

· Recent safeguarding training (or willingness to complete)
