Position: Financial Accountant
Location: Sheffield (Hybrid working available)

Reports to: Financial Controller
Status: Full-Time, Permanent
This Financial Accountant role will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and continuous improvement of financial processes across the business. The Financial Accountant will play a key part in ensuring robust financial controls, supporting operational decision-making, and maintaining compliance within UK accounting standards
It will be a varied role with duties to include: -
*Preparation of monthly and statutory accounts
*VAT returns and corporation tax information packs along with submissions to HMRC
*Lead year-end and audit processes, acting as primary contact for external auditors
*Ensure compliance with UK GAAP / IFRS and internal financial policies
*Strengthen internal controls and documentation across financial processes
*Assist in rolling forecasts, budgeting cycles, and cash flow management
*Support system enhancements (ERP / MRP financial modules) and drive process efficiencies
*Working on ad-hoc projects
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experiences: -
*Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) or finalist with strong relevant experience
*Background from practice would be desirable
*Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in statutory reporting
*Proficient in Excel
*Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and accuracy
*Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
*Excellent communication skills with ability to partner cross-functionally
