We are seeking a reliable and organised Food Technology Technician to support our busy and well-resourced Food Technology department in a thriving secondary school in Newham.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a practical environment and supporting students in developing essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities:*Prepare ingredients, equipment, and resources for Food Technology lessons
*Support teachers and students during practical cooking sessions
*Ensure kitchens and food preparation areas are clean, hygienic, and compliant with food safety regulations
*Monitor and manage stock, including ordering supplies and checking deliveries
*Maintain equipment and ensure it is safe and ready for use
*Support displays and events related to the department
The Ideal Candidate Will:*Have experience in a food preparation, catering, or school environment (desirable but not essential)
*Hold (or be willing to obtain) a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
*Be highly organised with strong attention to detail
*Have a good understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards
*Be able to work independently and as part of a team
*Show enthusiasm for supporting young people in a practical learning environment
