Hours: 37.5 hours per week, term-time only (8.00am–4.00pm)

Location: West Sussex (11–18 secondary school)
An ambitious and inclusive secondary school on the south coast of West Sussex is seeking to appoint a confident, enthusiastic and resilient Inclusion Mentor to support students facing barriers to learning and engagement.
This role is based within a School Provision, working as part of a committed and experienced team. You will support vulnerable and sometimes challenging students, helping them to re-engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.
The Role
As an Inclusion Mentor, you will:
*Support students at risk of exclusion to overcome barriers to learning
*Work with individuals and small groups to improve behaviour, self-esteem and engagement
*Deliver and support structured interventions, including literacy and numeracy
*Help students develop independence, resilience and positive learning behaviours
*Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, parents/carers and external agencies
*Promote student wellbeing, inclusion and safeguarding at all times
The Ideal Candidate
You will be:
*Calm, patient and consistent, with the ability to build strong relationships with young people
*Confident in managing behaviour and supporting students in challenging circumstances
*A strong communicator who works well as part of a team and independently
*Passionate about inclusion and committed to helping every young person succeed
Essential requirements:
*GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths
*Ability to work positively with children and young people
*DBS on the Update Service
*Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
*Experience working in a school or with young people
*Experience supporting students with social, emotional or behavioural needs
*Relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience
