Freightserve recruitment are looking for a Import / Export Manager who has experience with dealing with Airfreight shipments. The company are a well-established nice sector Freight Forwarder based in the Heathrow area.
About the role:-
We need an experienced Imports and Exports Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of our import and export operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, customs regulations, and international trade, along with excellent organisational and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:-
Import and Export Operations Management:-
• Coordinate and manage the end-to-end import and export process, including documentation, customs clearance, transportation, and delivery.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant import and export regulations, including customs laws, trade agreements, and sanctions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customs authorities, carriers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders. Customs Compliance:
• Stay up to date on changes in customs regulations and trade policies and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Prepare and submit customs documentation, including import/export declarations, permits, licenses, and certificates of origin.
Team Leadership and Development:-
• Lead and motivate the Import and Export team, including the Import Supervisor, Export Supervisor and Operations Agents.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to ensure high performance and productivity.
Client Relationship Management:-
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding import and export shipments.
• Address client inquiries, concerns, and requests in a professional and timely manner.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
Key Skills:-
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in import/export operations management, preferably in the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, international trade compliance, and logistics principles.
• Professional and positive
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service
• Proficiency in logistics software and systems.
Knowledge of CDS and Customer knowledge is essential.
• Leadership and team management experience, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.

This role requires references to be provided for the last 5 years as well as a successful DBS check.
Hours - 9:00am - 5:30pm
