Financial Controller, Stowmarket
Salary: up to £50,000 per year
We are seeking a Financial Controller to join our client in Stowmarket at a pivotal time of growth. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial reporting for the group and leading a small team. This role is ideal for a highly organised, efficient, and detail-oriented Finance Manager or Financial Controller who is passionate about driving business growth and profitability through expert financial management.
Day to Day of the Role:
* Oversee, manage, and report on the financial position of the group.
* Produce and manage monthly financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and analysis.
* Provide advice and guidance on financial matters to enable sound business decisions.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations.
* Support and challenge the Operational Management team to achieve budgeted targets.
* Maintain appropriate financial controls within the business.
* Prepare year-end statutory accounts and audit schedules.
* Monitor key financial metrics and highlight departmental performance.
* Process salary payroll and oversee wages payroll processing.
* Manage HMRC compliance and reporting, including VAT returns, P11d, and PSA.
* Resolve queries in financial records.
* Prepare and present monthly financial information, including balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow, and other reports.
* Prepare analysis of data to identify trends or changes.
* Prepare annual budgets.
* Provide line management and guidance to the finance team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Hold an accountancy qualification or qualified by experience.
* Proven track record within a busy finance team.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
* Experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
