MFL Teacher * Location: Harpenden

* Contract: Permanent
* Salary: £30,000 - £45,000
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated MFL Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in the Harpenden area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled educator to contribute to a dynamic language department from September 2024.
Day to Day of the Role: * Deliver engaging and diverse Spanish and French lessons, ensuring they are broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated.
* Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students both as a teacher and form tutor.
* Facilitate and encourage a learning experience which enables students to achieve their full potential.
* Contribute to raising standards of student attainment and support the school’s ethos of continuous improvement.
* Participate in curriculum development and act as a subject matter expert within the department.
* Engage in personal development and training to enhance teaching practices and subject knowledge.
Required Skills & Qualifications: * Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent, and a relevant undergraduate degree.
* Experience in teaching at secondary level, ideally including in multi-ethnic urban schools and within an 11-18 school environment.
* Understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies.
* Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team and maintain positive relationships with all staff.
* Proficient ICT skills, including the use of interactive whiteboards.
* Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to motivate students and raise their aspirations through various strategies.
