Job Description:
Fire Maintenance Engineer
up to £37,700 per annum plus overtime
Bridgwater/Wells/Bath - mobile role
The purpose of the Fire Maintenance Engineer role is to provide maintenance and servicing off fire and life safety equipment, emergency light and smoke vent systems, in accordance with all current British & European standards, this will be on multiple sites within the Bridgewater, Bath, Street, Wells and Glastonbury area and is a mobile role.
General Duties/Key Responsibilities:
• Provide day to day planned and reactive maintenance of contracts.
• To respond to emergency callouts and carry out any remedial works as required.
• Carry out asset verification.
• Install replacement/additional equipment.
• Take part in the on-call rota.
• Servicing and maintenance of emergency lighting system. Skills and experience:
• Good understanding of the British Standards BS 5839 and BS 5266.
• Attention to detail.
• Able to communicate on all levels.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and schedules
Qualifications:-
Essential:-
Comprehensive understanding of BS5839:1, BS5839:6, BS5266:1 and BS7671 and ideally holding a qualification in fire safety systems maintenance.
Fire Equipment Servicing Qualification or evidence of time served in a similar role
Desirable:-
Level 3 NVQ (either City & Guilds 2360 parts 1 and 2 or City & Guilds 2330 2351 levels 2 and 3) (or equivalent)
AM1 and AM2.
