Functional Skills Maths Tutor 

Salary Range: £27,929 to £33,690 

Location: Wetherby

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours: 37 hours per week (Mon-Thu 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Fri 8:00 am - 1:00 pm)

We are in search of a committed Functional Skills Maths Tutor to join our offender learning team in the Wetherby area. This position offers the chance to profoundly influence learners’ lives, fostering their personal growth and enabling them to make positive contributions to their communities.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and delivering high-quality functional skills maths lessons.

• Fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment to encourage student engagement and participation.

• Evaluating learner needs and formulating personalised learning plans.

• Tracking learner progress and offering constructive feedback.

• Assisting learners in attaining their qualifications.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve optimal outcomes for all learners.

• Keeping abreast of curriculum updates and best practices in functional skills education.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Possession of a minimum Level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE grades 9 to 4, A* to C, or equivalent).

• Qualification in the specialist area of Functional Skills Maths.

• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching the subject specialism.

• Level 5 teaching qualification or equivalent.

• Ability to secure and uphold a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
