Production Technician - Mechanical

Pertemps Bristol is recruiting for mechanical production technicians to work within a thriving plasma technology business in Severn Beach, near Bristol. This is a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a strong teamwork culture where you will be building precision equipment that is used at the forefront of scientific research and development.
*£31,000 - £35,000 d.o.e plus shift allowances [10% of basic for morning and 25% for afternoon shifts] - works out £36,425 to £40,425 d.o.e per annum basic
*Monday - Friday, early / afternoon shifts rotate weekly

About the job
*Work on the assembly build of high-tech, cutting edge products
*Build systems, sub-assemblies and piece parts for complex systems
*Ensure that the requirements of the BOM and the customer specification are achieved
*Identify and resolve build problems
*Report technical issues and record using the FRACAS process
*Detail fitting skills to precision level, including machining (typically milling and turning), vacuum and pneumatics and pipe bending with stainless steel, ¼" to ½"
*Train and guide less experienced technicians

The right candidate
*Time served Mechanical apprenticeship or City and Guilds part 3, or HND, HNC, or BTech level 3
*Ability to read mechanical drawings
*Ability to fault find and implement corrective action
*Precision fitting and pipe bending skills
*A good working knowledge of Swagelok
*PC skills
*Good communication skills
