We are currently working in partnership with a further educational institution in The Black Country, who are looking to appoint a Financial Controller on a permanent basis

This will be a full-time, office-based position offering a salary of £45,000 to £57,000 per annum (DOE) and benefits including 25 days annual leave (plus bank hols and Christmas close-down) and 22.1% employer pension contribution.

The client is looking for someone with experience within the education sector, if not, public sector experience is required.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):
*Assisting the Head of Finance in development and operation of financial strategy in line with the organisational strategic plans linked to the college and any subsidiaries or linked organisations
*Holding responsibility for the college’s financial viability and long-term sustainability though financial accounting of the college including management accounts, statutory accounts, funding body returns, cash flow and taxation matters
*Supporting the Head of Finance in promoting excellent financial management and internal control as well as ensuring continuous improvement and the effective and efficient delivery of all finance services
*Managing the finance team including one AP Supervisor, AR Supervisor, Financial Accountant and Finance Business Partner
*Assisting with month end - producing the packs, including accruals and prepayments
*Acting as the Budget Holder and liaising closely with Estates and IT in particular
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
*Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
*Qualification/Part Qualified is desirable

*37 hours per week
*Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
