Financial Accountant
Annual Salary: c.£40-45k
Location: Edgeware, HA8
Job Type: Full-time, on site, Monday to Friday
Reed have teamed up with an import/export company specialising in top-quality building material products. They are committed to excellence and customer satisfaction and are currently seeking a Financial Accountant to help maintain their high standards in financial operations and international transactions.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Complete the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end closing procedures
*Manage the banking relationships and handle international banking transactions
*Oversee all import/export documentation with meticulous attention to detail
*Liaise with our own offices, freight forwarders, shipping companies, and customs agents to ensure smooth logistics operations by the team
*Prepare financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and budgets
*Prepare and monitor cash flow and working capital requirements
*Oversee compliance with HMRC regulations and VAT returns
*Manage commercial aspects including international trade insurance, legal contracts, statutory filings
*Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Qualified accountant (MAAT, CIMA or equivalent) with minimum 5 years’ experience
*Proven experience in taking the full accounting responsibility for companies
*Energetic and eager to learn new skills
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively internally and externally
*Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
*Previous experience with import/export would be advantageous
