We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join a growing construction business. This is a key role responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations, with a focus on project accounting, cost tracking and ensuring compliance with industry-specific financial regulations such as CIS.
You’ll work closely with project managers, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate financial control and reporting across multiple construction projects.
Key Responsibilities: * Manage and oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliation

* Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and financial statements

* Monitor project costs, budgets, and profit margins

* Administer and submit CIS returns and verify subcontractors

* Handle VAT returns and liaise with HMRC when required

* Maintain accurate records for all construction projects and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations

* Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audits

* Liaise with external accountants, suppliers, and key stakeholders

* Support operational teams with financial insights and reporting
