£32,000 – £36,000 per annum full study support
Tony Alan Recruitment is pleased to be working with a growing business in the Lewes area who, due to continued expansion, are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis.
This is a newly created role designed to support the finance function through a period of growth. It also offers excellent progression opportunities, with the potential to develop into a Finance Manager / Financial Controller position once qualified – making it a fantastic career move for someone looking to take the next step.
Key Responsibilities
*Reconcile supplier statements
*Assist the Finance Director with supplier payments
*Post supplier invoices and process overhead invoices
*Maintain and update supplier records
*Process customer applications for payment and receipts
*Prepare aged debt reports
*Complete HMRC verification of suppliers and subcontractors
*Reconcile credit card statements for posting
*Assist with bank reconciliations
*Support the Finance Director during annual audits
*Respond to supplier enquiries
*Assist with overhead variance analysis
*Prepare VAT returns
Key Requirements
*At final stages of AAT, or early stages of ACCA/CIMA
*Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and debits/credits
*Confident Excel skills (e.g. SUMIFS, VLOOKUPs)
