Job Description:
A well-established distributor of is seeking an Logistics Assistant to join their team. This company supplies a wide range of products to various industries. As an Logistics Assistant the primary responsibilities include assisting with goods receiving, managing bonded stores, and maintaining stock accuracy. Additional duties such as picking, packing, and despatching goods will be carried out based on workload priorities, team availability, and training status.


Logistics Assistant responsibilities:
*Logistics Coordination: Liaise with carriers and shipping companies for goods collection. Proficient use of courier and logistics platforms such as UPS Worldwide and DPD Portal is essential.
*Export Support: Handle queries from customs and couriers related to exported products. Collaborate with relevant agencies and maintain a strong understanding of customs procedures and requirements.
*Goods Receiving: Accept incoming deliveries and prepare them for inspection. Verify that received goods and documentation meet specifications and purchase order requirements.
*Inventory Management: Allocate storage locations, prepare items for storage, and record them in the IQ System. Scan and file associated documentation.
*Operational Support: Assist the Operations team with core functions, including forklift operations and cable respooling.
*Equipment Handling: Safely operate lifting equipment to move heavy packages.
*Stock Control: Participate in stock checks, physically count inventory, reorganize stock into suitable packaging, and update the MRP system.
*Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company health and safety policies during the execution of duties. Any issues that arise within the customer service functions
*Order Fulfilment: Pick, label, pack, and despatch customer orders, updating the MRP system accordingly. Some shipments require booking through customer portals and may involve an ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice) process.


Skills & experience required:


*Valid driving license and forklift truck certification.
*Strong attention to detail and self-motivation.
*Ability to navigate and extract information from the MRP system.
*Effective time management and prioritisation skills.
*Clear and professional communication abilities.
*Proactive approach to resolving customer issues.
*Competence in Microsoft Word and Excel.
*Organised and methodical work habits.
