Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist provision in Tonbridge supporting children and young people with profound and complex special educational needs.
This role is ideal for someone with a care background who is passionate about providing personalised support to pupils with complex physical disabilities, severe learning difficulties, and associated medical needs.
Key Responsibilities: * Provide high-quality support with personal care, feeding, mobility, and medical routines
* Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum through personalised, therapeutic approaches
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care and education
* Support pupils’ communication using various methods, including Makaton, PECS, or other augmentative communication systems (training provided)
* Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Person Specification: * Experience in a care role supporting individuals with complex needs is highly desirable
* Demonstrates patience, empathy, and resilience when working with children with profound disabilities
* Willingness to learn educational strategies and therapeutic techniques
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Commitment to providing person-centred support that promotes dignity and independence
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care) are advantageous but not essential
