Design Manager – Devon
Are you ready to take the lead on innovative and large-scale construction projects? We’re working with a leading main contractor who is looking for an experienced Design Manager to join their Southwest team.
As a Design Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and managing the design process across a portfolio of projects ranging from £10m to £100m. These cover a variety of sectors including Education, Leisure, Transport, Commercial, Residential, and Public Sector facilities. You’ll ensure that design solutions are innovative, cost-effective, and delivered to meet both project and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead and manage the design process to ensure outputs meet project goals, specifications, and budgets.
*Oversee the appointment and performance of consultants, managing them against agreed scopes of service.
*Develop and maintain design programmes to align with overall project milestones.
*Drive innovation in delivering technical solutions.
*Chair design team meetings, ensuring actions are followed through to completion.
*Ensure all designs achieve statutory and regulatory approvals with full documentation.
About You
*We’re looking for a collaborative leader with a strong technical background in construction design.
You’ll have:
*Experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary design teams.
*Strong communication and leadership skills.
*Knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements within construction.
*A track record of developing design programmes and achieving project milestones.
*A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving.
*Relevant driving licence.
