Job Description:
Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in education while making a real impact in the classroom?
We are seeking enthusiastic and confident individuals to join our team as Cover Supervisors in mainstream secondary schools. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, educational psychologists, or those interested in youth development to gain valuable classroom experience.
Key Responsibilities:
*Supervise whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring pupils remain on task and complete the work set.
*Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using strategies informed by your understanding of adolescent development and psychology.
*Build positive relationships with pupils, supporting their engagement, motivation, and emotional wellbeing.
*Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil behaviour and class progress.
*Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and safe school environment that supports both the academic and personal development of all pupils.
Why Psychology Graduates? Your background in Psychology offers valuable insight into behaviour, learning styles, and mental health – all of which are essential for managing classrooms and supporting young people to succeed.
Requirements:
*A bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field.
*A genuine interest in working with young people and pursuing a career in education, child psychology, or a related area.
*Confidence in leading a classroom and managing behaviour in a calm and constructive manner.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with pupils and staff alike.
*Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to adapt to different school settings.
*An enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service), or willingness to obtain one.
Benefits:
*Competitive daily rate of up to £110.
*Opportunity for professional development and training in SEN support strategies.
*Rewarding work experience in a supportive school environment.
*Potential for long-term employment and career advancement within the organisation.
If you are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young people with SEN and possess the necessary skills and qualifications, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position. The start date will be scheduled once vetting checks have been successfully completed.
To apply, please submit your CV detailing your relevant experience and why you are passionate about supporting students with SEN. We look forward to hearing from you!
