Registered Manager – Children’s Home
Role Overview
As the Registered Manager for a home for up to two young people, aged 11-17, you will lead and manage the home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support. You will be responsible for staff management, care planning, safeguarding, and maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
*Lead and manage the home, inspiring both staff and residents.
*Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, including Children’s Homes Regulations, Children Act, Health & Safety, and safeguarding requirements.
*Develop and supervise staff, ensuring they have the skills and qualifications to meet the needs of each child.
*Oversee care planning, placement reviews, and risk assessments tailored to individual children.
*Maintain professional relationships with multi-agency partners, families, and stakeholders.
*Monitor and report on quality, compliance, and outcomes for children.
*Embed equality, diversity, and children’s rights into the home’s culture.
Experience & Skills
*Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children in the last 5 years, including at least 1 year at a senior level.
*Supervision or management experience in a residential or care setting.
*Experience with inter-agency collaboration and working with children, young people, and families.
*Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and the needs of looked-after children.
*Understanding of relevant legislation, care standards, and residential children’s home policies.
