Our Client is a growing top 40 accountancy practice who provide expert solutions for entrepreneurial businesses and private individuals in Central and Southern England. They have several offices in Central and Southern England and have ambitious plans to expand their business. They have a new opportunity for a VAT Senior Manager to join the VAT team.This is a permanent full-time or part-time role with hybrid and flexible working options. This role may involve travel to a number of offices within the Group.
The Role
They are seeking a newly qualified VAT Senior Manager to join the Group’s VAT team. This is a new & pivotal role within the business which will contribute to a new & dynamic team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
*Providing technical advice on a range of Indirect Tax matters, supporting your output with legislation, case law and technical analysis
*Providing clients confidence with their VAT systems by conducting health checks and in-depth reviews of their business tax systems to establish if their VAT is being dealt with thoroughly and accurately.
*Managing all commercial aspects of VAT work undertaken and optimising financial outcomes. Managing the firms VAT advisory services provided to both existing clients and on new assignments and projects
*Building relationships both within the firm and externally with clients, identifying opportunities and managing expectations
*Advising clients on beneficial VAT structures to make sure payments are made on time and that the clients are compliant with legal regulations
*Contributing to the efficient and successful delivery of indirect tax services to the client
*Contributing to the development of consultancy work and projects for the firm, cross selling to other departments and assisting colleagues with general VAT advice to clients
*Reviewing prepared VAT returns
*Planning and managing assignments ensuring high standards and budget adherence
*Contributing to winning new work by proactively managing existing clients and networking to win new clients.
*Liaising and negotiating with HMRC on behalf of clients
*Liaising with clients and colleagues, assisting and advising where necessary
*Assisting the firm’s training function, as required
*Contributing to successfully extracting maximum value for both the firm and its clients from the VAT services delivered, whilst managing risk appropriately for both the client and the firm.
*Managing the successful delivery of VAT projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical/business driven approach is taken.
*Providing general support to the VAT team as required

About You
We would like to hear from you if you have a minimum of 6 years qualified practice experience, Advising on UK VAT The following attributes would be preferred:
*Proven track record of professional experience in providing VAT advisory services
*Strong client relationship skills
*Proven project management and collaborative leadership skills
*Demonstrate good judgement of risk and be commercially minded
*CTA VAT qualified
*Experience and willingness to network and develop new business leads
*Extensive experience in cooperating with HMRC
*Strong communication skills, verbal and written
*Exceptional attention to detail
*Strong IT skills
*A positive, confident & proactive attitude
*Ability to prioritise & meet tight timeframes with high quality output
*Self-motivated
*Enjoy working as part of a team
*A UK driving licence to meet the need to be able to travel to all the Group’s offices
