We’re working with a well-established insurance broker seeking a Deputy Head of Compliance to join their team in Manchester city centre. This is an exciting opportunity for a compliance professional to take on a senior role within a growing business. The role is offered on a hybrid basis, with three days per week in the Manchester office.


Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will support the delivery of the firm’s compliance framework, ensure regulatory standards are met, and provide guidance across the business. You will also contribute to operational improvements and strategic initiatives with occasional travel to other sites in the business.


Responsibilities
*Support the Head of Compliance in managing all compliance matters and providing guidance across the business.
*Deputise in the Head of Compliance’s absence, maintaining oversight of monitoring, reporting, and advisory activity.
*Maintain the compliance monitoring plan and produce regular reports for senior management and board meetings.
*Coordinate file audits, manage escalations, and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
*Oversee complaints and breaches, managing investigations and ensuring timely resolution.
*Liaise with regulators such as the FCA and ICO, assisting with regulatory returns and external audits.
*Review and update policies, procedures, and financial promotions to ensure regulatory compliance.
*Deliver training and updates to staff on compliance matters and regulatory developments.
*Monitor insurer terms of business, agency set-ups, and security.
*Contribute to risk committee meetings, product governance, fair value assessments, and strategic initiatives.
*Collaborate with other offices and teams to ensure a consistent and proactive compliance culture.


Requirements
*Strong background in compliance within general insurance is essential for this role.
*Sound knowledge of FCA regulations, including ICOBs.
*Minimum Cert CII qualification, ideally Dip CII (or working towards).
*Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
*Confident written and verbal communication skills, able to influence at all levels.
*Resilient with a strong sense of character, and able to have tough conversations.
*Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and Teams.
*Professional, collaborative, and aligned with high ethical standards.
