Marks Sattin are delighted to be working with a well-established professional services firm in Harrogate who are looking to appoint a Junior Accounts Assistant to join their friendly and supportive finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of finance tasks within a structured and professional environment.
The Role:
You will work closely with the Finance Manager and wider accounts team, supporting the day-to-day running of the firm’s financial operations.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and reports
*Reconciling bank statements and ledgers on a daily basis
*Processing supplier invoices and preparing payments for authorisation
*Maintaining accurate records of receipts, payments, and other transactions
*Assisting with client and office account management in line with internal policies
*Supporting the preparation of month-end and year-end financial information
*Assisting with petty cash, cashflow, and ad-hoc financial reporting
*Working collaboratively to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
About You:
*Previous experience within a finance, accounts, or cashiering environment (placement year or entry-level experience welcome)
*Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
*Confident working with numbers and reconciling data
*Good working knowledge of Excel and general finance systems
*Positive, proactive, and eager to learn
*A team player with strong communication skills
*Ideally studying or keen to study AAT / CIMA / ACCA
