SEND Teaching Assistant
Are you a compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? We are seeking a talented SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Surbiton.
About the Role:
In this role, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to help children with a range of special educational needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Dyslexia, and moderate learning difficulties. You will be responsible for providing tailored support, promoting inclusion, and helping pupils reach their full potential both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
*Assist with adapting lesson plans and resources to meet individual needs.
*Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence in learning.
*Support emotional and social development, promoting positive behaviour.
*Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents/carers.
Requirements:
*Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting (desirable).
*Understanding of a range of SEN conditions and strategies for support.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Patience, empathy, and resilience.
*Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
*An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
