SEMH Teaching Assistant – Catford, London SE6
Salary: £90–£100 per day
Contract: Temporary
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 8:15am – 3:30pm

The Role
We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a busy child centred school in the Catford SE6 area. You will work alongside experienced teachers and therapists to support pupils in their learning, development, and daily routines, helping them to reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.
This role would suit someone who is patient, compassionate, and eager to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
*Support pupils with complex learning needs, including personal care where required.
*Assist teachers in creating engaging, inclusive learning experiences.
*Work collaboratively with the wider staff team to maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment.
*Help pupils develop independence, confidence, and social skills.
*Uphold the school’s values of respect, inclusion, and achievement.
About You
*Passionate about supporting pupils with special educational needs, particularly SEMH.
*Kind, empathetic, and committed to creating a positive learning experience.
*Able to work well as part of a team and adapt to the school’s needs.
*Hold a valid Child and Adult DBS (or be willing to obtain one).
*Team Teach trained (desirable)
