Job Description:
A leading national charity that supports families facing challenging circumstances is seeking a qualified or part-qualified Finance Manager to play a key role in delivering accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and strategic insight.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation with multiple sites across the UK, during a period of system transformation and continued expansion. Working closely with the Director of Finance and Technology, you will ensure the charity’s finance function is effective, compliant, and forward-looking.
You’ll lead on management reporting, statutory accounts preparation, and support the delivery of a new finance system, embedding stronger processes and providing training to staff across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities *Managing transactional finance operations team including AP, AR, banking and revenues.
* Lead on audit preparation and the production of statutory accounts in line with SORP requirements.

* Oversee year-end processes, ensuring deadlines are met and reconciliations are completed to a high standard.

* Support the budgeting and forecasting cycles, producing clear quarterly forecasts.

* Provide financial due diligence support for grants and funding applications.

* Work collaboratively across departments to build financial awareness and literacy.

* Manage and develop a small finance team, ensuring strong communication and accountability.

* Contribute to the successful implementation of a new finance system and related processes.

Essential experience and skills:
* Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).

* Strong background in charity or not-for-profit finance, ideally with multi-site experience.

* Skilled in developing and maintaining finance systems, policies, and controls.

* Excellent Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly.

* Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage competing priorities.

* Experience managing or mentoring a small team.

* Desirable: involvement in a finance system implementation project.
