Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning in Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to provide high-quality support to pupils, helping them to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities *Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the KS2 curriculum.
*Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning objectives and provide targeted interventions.
*Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
*Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
*Support pupils with additional needs, including those with SEND, EAL, or behavioural challenges.
*Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
*Supervise pupils during break times, lunchtimes, and on school trips as required.
*Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to ensure consistent support for all learners.
*Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
Person Specification Essential:
*Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
*Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths or equivalent).
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*A patient, caring, and flexible approach to supporting children’s learning.
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
*Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., CACHE, NCFE).
*Experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 2.
*Knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment strategies.
*Experience working with children with SEND or behavioural needs.
*First Aid and/or Safeguarding training.
