Job Description:
Join us as a Home to School Passenger Assistant (PA) and help escort children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities to and from school safely and comfortably.
Hours: 15-25 hours per week
What you’ll be doing:
*Supporting children and young people during their school journeys via council-commissioned taxis.
*Ensuring their safety, comfort, and wellbeing throughout transit.
*Working one-to-one or with small groups depending on the route.
*Building strong relationships with families, carers, schools, and drivers.
*Managing challenging behaviours and promoting a calm environment.
*Completing incident reports and sharing best practices.
*Attending training, staff sessions, and reviews.
What we’re looking for:
Flexible and positive attitude to route changes
Physically able to assist passengers (bending, lifting, etc.)
Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable children
Great communication and interpersonal skills
Digitally confident and open to ongoing training
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Punctual, reliable, and presentable
Committed to GDPR compliance and safe working practices
