Teaching Assistant
Location: Cranborne, Dorset
Hourly Rate: £12.37 - £13.49
Annual Salary: £22,102.72 - £24,103.93 (FTE £25,729.60 - £28,059.20)
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, term time only
Are you passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential? We’re looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team supporting students aged 11–16 with a range of needs, including Autism and associated conditions.
You’ll play a key role in creating a safe, caring, and inspiring learning environment—supporting both academic and vocational activities such as bushcraft, animal care, and life skills. Flexibility and positive role modelling are essential in this rewarding role.
What You’ll Do
*Work alongside teaching staff to support learning and provide extra guidance where needed.
*Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times.
*Help students meet and exceed their Education and Healthcare Plan targets.
*Encourage positive behaviour and adapt approaches to individual needs.
*Support group activities that foster social interaction and friendships.
What We’re Looking For
*Ability to manage a range of behaviours, including those that challenge.
*A positive, creative approach to supporting young people.
*Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
*Good literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
*GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4 or equivalent) preferred.
