An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a growing business based in Birmingham. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a close-knit team, takes pride in accuracy, and is eager to develop their finance career. You’ll support the finance function across a variety of tasks, with a strong focus on Accounts Payable and expense management.
Key Responsibilities*Process purchase invoices and manage the full Accounts Payable cycle
*Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice or payment queries
*Manage and process company credit card expenses, ensuring accurate coding and timely submission
*Assist with bank reconciliations and posting daily cash transactions
*Raise purchase orders and ensure authorisation in line with company policy
*Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve finance queries promptly
*Contribute to process improvement initiatives and help streamline finance workflows
*Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance Manager and wider team as required
About You*Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant or Accounts Payable position
*Strong attention to detail and accuracy
*Proficient in Excel and comfortable using accounting systems
*Excellent communication and organisational skills
*A proactive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn
