Job Description:
Annual Salary: Dependent on Experience
Location: Ipswich
Job Type: Full-time, 9 month fixed-term contract (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, minimum 3 days per week in the office)
Join our Business Partnering team as a Management Accounting Analyst on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This role is crucial for supporting the production of management accounts, financial analysis, and reporting. It is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to facilitating strategic decision-making across the organisation.
Day-to-day of the role:
-Assist in delivering timely and accurate management accounts, including branch-level financial analysis.
-Ensure the reliability and accuracy of financial information shared within the business.
-Support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning processes.
-Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
-Assist in year-end statutory audit preparations.
-Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency.
-Complete government financial returns such as national statistics surveys.
-Manage core system interfaces into the General Ledger.
-Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support as required by management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
-Currently studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA / ACCA / ACA).
-Previous experience in Management Accounts.
-Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
-Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and provide
recommendations.
-Experience working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
-Intermediate Excel skills, including experience with formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation.
-A proactive approach to challenging existing processes and driving improvements.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
-A questioning mindset, always seeking to understand and improve financial reporting.
-The desire to grow into a Finance Business Partner role, developing strong soft skills for stakeholder engagement.
Technical & Soft Skills:
-Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
-Clear and concise communication skills.
-Ability to work collaboratively with teams across the organisation.
