Job Description:
Are you a proactive and organised facilities professional looking to make a real impact in a vital public service? The London Fire Brigade is seeking a Facilities Officer to join their team on a 3-month temporary contract, with the possibility of extension.
Area of site to manage: South London (South East or South West)
3-Month Contract (with potential to extend)
Full-time | Monday to Friday | Hybrid Working
Pay rate: £25.65 per hour via PAYE or £33.30 per hour via Umbrella
About the Role:
This is a front-facing position, working closely with fire station staff across South London. You’ll be responsible for:
*Auditing sites and monitoring performance
*Managing quotes, complaints, and investigations related to new works
*Overseeing plant rooms and technical facilities
*Liaising with suppliers to ensure timely and effective delivery of services
*Ensuring that necessary works are completed to a high standard
You’ll need to be confident in managing relationships, resolving issues, and keeping things moving—especially when it comes to getting work done on the ground.
Hybrid working:
*Wednesdays: Team meetings at LFB HQ at Southwark
*3 days per week: On-site across estates in South London
*Monday to Friday schedule

*Experience in facilities management
*Ability to manage suppliers and contractors
*A hands-on approach to problem-solving and site auditing
