Job Description:
Compliance Monitoring Manager
Location: Home-Based
£65,000 - £75,000
Contract Type: 12 Month FTC

About the Role
Are you a seasoned compliance or second-line audit professional looking to make real impact in a purpose-led organisation?
We’re looking for a Compliance Monitoring Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our risk-based annual Compliance Monitoring Plan. You’ll be at the forefront of ensuring that regulatory risks are identified, understood, and effectively managed — all while supporting a strong culture of compliance and good customer outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining analytical rigour with business insight, who can confidently challenge and influence stakeholders, and who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do
As a key member of the second line of defence, you will:
*Lead, scope, and deliver compliance monitoring reviews in line with our risk-based plan and methodology.
*Produce clear, insightful, and high-quality audit reports with actionable recommendations.
*Engage closely with senior stakeholders across the business to provide balanced, commercial advice while upholding strong regulatory standards.
*Support and deputise for the Head of Compliance Monitoring when required — including overseeing delivery of the monitoring plan and team management.
*Track and report on remediation actions, ensuring issues are addressed at root cause level.
*Help embed Consumer Duty and maintain alignment with FCA requirements including ICOBS, DISP, SYSC, PROD, SUP, COND, and GEN.
*Continuously enhance monitoring processes and controls, driving improvements in compliance and risk management practices.
*Act as a subject matter expert, sharing insights on emerging regulatory trends and mentoring other compliance professionals.

About You
You’ll bring proven experience in compliance monitoring or internal audit within financial services (ideally general insurance). You are confident reviewing and challenging first-line processes and controls, and you can balance commerciality with regulatory rigour.
You’ll also bring:
*Strong knowledge of the FCA Handbook and Consumer Duty requirements.
*Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
*The ability to communicate complex findings clearly to senior stakeholders.
*Sound judgement, independence, and integrity.
*A proactive, curious mindset and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
Professional qualifications (e.g. ICA, CII, IIA) or working toward them are highly desirable.
