Software Engineer - National Security Projects
Location: Gloucester (On-site)
Salary: Up to £70,000 + Excellent Package**
Clearance: Must hold or be eligible for DV (Developed Vetting) or minimum SC (Security Check)
A unique opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading technology organisations delivering software engineering projects at the heart of UK National Security.
You’ll work within a secure engineering environment on critical programmes supporting law enforcement, intelligence, and government departments. These roles offer challenging, meaningful work where your code genuinely makes a difference.
What you’ll be doing: *Designing, developing, and deploying high-assurance software solutions within secure environments.
*Working across Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript-based systems depending on project needs.
*Delivering in agile teams alongside cyber, data, and infrastructure specialists.
*Building scalable cloud-native applications and services in AWS.
*Contributing to continuous improvement and innovation across the engineering function.
Experience required: *Proven commercial software development experience in Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
*Familiarity with AWS cloud services and best practices.
*Understanding of secure software engineering principles and CI/CD pipelines.
*Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
*Must be eligible for UK DV clearance (typically British citizenship, long-term UK residency) or currently hold SC clearance as a minimum.
The Package: *Up to £70,000 base salary + comprehensive benefits.
*On-site role in Gloucester (National Security campus).

*Work that contributes directly to UK safety and intelligence missions.
Due to the sensitivity of the projects, candidates must meet UK security clearance requirements. Dual nationals are not eligible for DV.
