The Role
As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you’ll be the driving force behind the maintenance and reliability of our production equipment. You’ll play a key role in minimising downtime, improving equipment performance, and supporting a high-output manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, and diagnostics across a wide range of production machinery
* Perform both reactive and planned preventative maintenance to ensure equipment uptime
* Support minor electrical tasks and collaborate with multi-skilled engineering colleagues
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on mechanical reliability, safety, and efficiency
* Ensure all mechanical systems and repairs meet safety and compliance standards
* Assist with rapid line changeovers and setups to support production demands
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to spare parts management
* Help develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation
About You
* Time-served or formally qualified in mechanical engineering (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent)
* Strong hands-on experience with mechanical systems in a production or manufacturing setting
* Comfortable with basic electrical fault-finding and working alongside electrical engineers
* Skilled in diagnosing issues with motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and pneumatics
* Solid understanding of health & safety practices and safe systems of work
* Proactive, adaptable, and a strong team player who thrives under pressure
* Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing is a plus, but not essential
