Hire Desk Controller
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 DOE
Location: Leeds
Are you an organised, proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment? We’re looking for a Hire Desk Controller to join our busy Leeds-based depot, supporting the hire and management of surveying and construction equipment across a wide range of projects.
About the Role:
As a key member of the hire desk team, you’ll be the first point of contact for clients and site teams, ensuring equipment is delivered on time and maintained to the highest standard. This is a fast-paced, customer-focused role where attention to detail and strong communication are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
*Managing incoming hire requests via phone, email and in person
*Coordinating equipment deliveries, collections, and logistics
*Preparing hire quotes and processing hire documentation
*Liaising with clients, site staff, and the depot team to ensure smooth operations
*Monitoring stock levels and availability of equipment
*Maintaining accurate hire records and system updates
*Supporting the maintenance and calibration schedule of surveying equipment
*Providing excellent customer service and resolving queries efficiently
About You:
*Previous experience in a hire desk, plant hire, surveying equipment, or construction
*Support role is desirable
*Strong organisational and communication skills
*Confident using computer systems and hire management software
*Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
*A positive, team-oriented attitude and proactive approach to problem solving
