Teaching Assistant - High Wycombe | Pupil Referral Unit
Are you a resilient and motivated Teaching Assistant looking for an opportunity to make a real difference? A specialist Pupil Referral Unit in High Wycombe is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support learners with social, emotional and mental health SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
The Role:
*Full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant position with the opportunity to go permanent
*Competitive daily rate of £100-£115
*Supporting learners in small groups and on a 1:1 basis within the Pupil Referral Unit
*Assisting teachers in delivering tailored lessons across the curriculum, including GCSE and Functional Skills
*Helping pupils in High Wycombe re-engage with education through consistent structure, encouragement and behaviour management strategies
The Ideal Candidate:
*Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a youth work/support role, care or residential background
*Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations
*A calm, resilient and adaptable approach to working with learners who may be disengaged from mainstream education
*Passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours in High Wycombe
*Eager to learn and grow within a specialist Pupil Referral Unit setting
