Join Wakefield Council at the Boat House Café, where we pride ourselves on delivering excellent food and outstanding service. We are looking for a dedicated Catering Assistant to support our daily operations, ensuring high standards of customer service, food preparation, and safety.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Serve customers efficiently, ensuring a polite and friendly experience.
*Assist in basic food preparation and cooking.
*Maintain cleanliness and safety across kitchen, service, and seating areas.
*Handle cash transactions and operate tills accurately.
*Support the organisation and delivery of special functions and events.
*Comply with all food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
*Participate in training and departmental meetings to enhance service delivery.
*Promote products to increase sales and respond constructively to customer feedback.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience in a busy catering or hospitality environment.
*Possession of or willingness to obtain a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
*Strong knowledge of food hygiene and preparation.
*Excellent communication and customer care skills.
*Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
*Experience with cash handling and basic record-keeping.
*Awareness of Health & Safety and relevant legislation.
*Flexible, proactive, and professional approach to work.
