As a Senior Finance Officer, you’ll be at the heart of the company’s financial operations, supporting both UK distribution and production activities. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Director and overseeing a part-time team member, you’ll ensure robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and smooth day-to-day accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:
?? Financial Management & Reporting
• Maintain accurate financial records in line with UK standards
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end management accounts
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and control accounts
• Manage accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
?? Invoicing & Ledger Oversight
• Generate and process customer and supplier invoices
• Oversee purchase and sales ledger functions
• Monitor aged debtors and creditors, ensuring timely payments
• Liaise with suppliers and customers on financial queries
?? Payroll & Compliance
• Manage payroll and ensure HMRC compliance
• Administer pensions, benefits, and statutory deductions
• Submit VAT returns and other statutory filings
?? Cashflow & Budgeting
• Maintain cashflow forecasts and assist with budgeting
• Provide insights on cost control and financial efficiency
??? Systems & Process Improvement
• Use and maintain accounting systems (Xero & Syspro essential)
• Enhance internal financial controls and processes
• Support and train junior finance staff
?? Stakeholder Engagement
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and HMRC
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions
• Ensure GDPR and internal policy compliance

Requirements
• Proven experience in a senior bookkeeping or finance role
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting and compliance
• Proficiency in Xero and Syspro (essential)
• Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills
• Confident working independently and managing deadlines
