Financial Controller
Location: Reigate
Salary: up to £65,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
We are partnering with a forward-thinking organisation to recruit a strategic and hands-on Financial Controller. This is a key leadership role supporting the Director of Finance and Resources in delivering robust financial management, insightful reporting, and continuous improvement across finance operations.
You’ll lead a high-performing team, manage financial risk, and work closely with non-finance stakeholders to align financial strategy with organisational goals. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional who thrives in a collaborative and values-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
*Provide strategic oversight of income, expenditure, and financial performance.
*Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning cycles.
*Deliver clear, actionable financial advice to internal stakeholders.
*Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and controls.
*Lead finance-related projects and digital transformation initiatives.
Financial Management
*Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
*Oversee statutory accounts and external audit processes.
*Ensure compliance with tax regulations, SORP, and grant conditions.
*Manage treasury functions, insurance, and investment appraisals.
*Support fee, rent, and service charge setting.
Team Leadership
*Line manage two Senior Accountants and support the Finance Manager.
*Recruit, train, and develop finance team members.
*Conduct appraisals and foster a high-performance culture.
*Provide finance training and guidance to managers across the organisation.
Person Specification
*Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or QBE with significant experience.
*Proven experience in multi-departmental or group finance environments.
*Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
*Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and finance systems.
*Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.
