Location: Sheffield
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Full time
Salary: Main Pay Scale + SEN Allowance
Are you a passionate and resilient educator with a commitment to inclusive teaching? A specialist school in Sheffield is seeking enthusiastic SEN Class Teachers to join its dedicated team, supporting learners with complex needs across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
This multi-site school provides a rich and inclusive learning environment for students with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities, including physical, sensory, communication, behavioural, and medical challenges. The curriculum is built on four foundational pillars: Communication & Literacy, Cognition & Learning, Social & Emotional Development, and Physical & Sensory Learning. About the Role: You will be working as a class tutor for students with complex physical and learning needs. The role involves delivering a broad and engaging curriculum tailored to individual developmental levels, with a strong emphasis on communication, independence, and emotional regulation.
Students follow one of three curriculum pathways:
*Pathway 1: Focused on basic skills and classroom-based learning.
*Pathway 2: Sensory-based curriculum with structured play and communication strategies such as AAC, Makaton, and Zones of Regulation.
*Pathway 3: Subject-specific curriculum with modified National Curriculum content, Entry Level exams, and multi-sensory learning strategies.
What We’re Looking For:
*QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
*Experience working with SEND learners, particularly those with complex needs.
*Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
*Willingness to train in Team Teach (if not already certified).
*Ability to deliver high-quality teaching across a range of subjects.
*Applications from ECTs and mainstream teachers with a passion for SEN are welcome.
Why Join Us?
*Be part of a nurturing and innovative community that celebrates achievement.
*Work in a school praised by Ofsted for its inclusive ethos and personalised curriculum.
*Access professional development and support tailored to your career stage.
*Make a lasting impact on the lives of young people with diverse needs.
If you’re ready to inspire, support, and grow alongside a team of dedicated professionals, we’d love to hear from you.
