Job Description:
MLC Partners are pleased to be supporting a large and respected NHS Foundation Trust in their search for a Senior Financial Accountant to join their established finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented finance professional who is passionate about delivering excellence in financial reporting, governance, and control — all while benefiting from the flexibility of a fully remote role.
About the RoleAs a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the Trust’s statutory and regulatory financial reporting. You will ensure the integrity of the Trust’s financial ledgers, lead on elements of the month-end and year-end processes, and provide high-quality financial insight and advice to senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
*Leading on the preparation of statutory accounts and external financial reports.
*Managing the year-end process and liaising with external auditors.
*Maintaining robust financial controls and ensuring compliance with NHS and accounting standards.
*Producing accurate and timely monthly financial statements.
*Providing technical accounting support and guidance across the finance team.
*Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
About YouYou will be a proactive, qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with strong technical accounting skills and a solid understanding of NHS or public sector finance. You’ll be confident in managing competing priorities and comfortable operating autonomously in a remote environment.
Essential skills and experience:
*CCAB or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
*Significant post-qualification experience in financial accounting or management accounting.
*Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and accounting systems.
*Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
*A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality outcomes.
