About Role:
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a great school in Kirkby starting as soon as possible. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a young person, providing tailored academic and emotional support within a secondary school setting.
1:1 Teaching Assistant
*Location - Kirkby, L32
*Type of work - Long Term
*Start date - December 2025
*Contract type - Long-term Temporary
*Full time/part time - Full time
*Pay: Paid to scale
*Hours: - 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Key Responsibilities:
*Work closely with a specific student to support their learning and progress across the curriculum.
*Assist with adapting lesson materials to meet the student’s individual needs.
*Promote student engagement, confidence, and independence.
*Liaise effectively with teachers, SENCO, and parents/carers.
*Support the delivery of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
*Experience working with young people in an education setting, particularly those with additional learning needs, is desirable.
*Patient, empathetic, and adaptable
*Able to work collaboratively with staff
*A relevant qualification (e.g. Teaching Assistant or equivalent) is an advantage.
To be eligible:
*Hold Right to Work in the UK
*Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
*Provide two professional references/cover the last 2 years
