Job Description:
Study Supervisor
*Annual Salary: from £110 per day
*Location: Horsham
*Job Type: Full-time, Term Time Only (31 hours per week + Inset Days)
We are seeking a dedicated Study Supervisor to join our vibrant educational team. This role is pivotal in ensuring effective classroom supervision and supporting student progress in the absence of the regular teacher. The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher for Teaching and Learning, contributing significantly to our students’ educational experience.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Supervise classes effectively, ensuring that students engage with and complete the tasks set by the absent teacher using available resources such as books, equipment, and worksheets.
*Communicate clearly with students about their classwork and independent learning tasks.
*Maintain classroom management and organisation, including adhering to health and safety standards.
*Perform behaviour management duties as required and provide feedback to the teachers regarding cover work.
*Support the Inclusion Department by supervising students in internal exclusion and assisting with student support, particularly for those with SEND.
*Mentor potential underachievers in KS4 and maintain accurate records of student achievements and behaviour incidents using BROMCOM.
*Engage in the supervision of off-site visits and school trips, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.
*Assist in the induction and support of new Study Supervisors and contribute to the team as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in an educational or supervisory role, preferably within a school setting.
*Strong ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
*Competent in managing classrooms and promoting active learning.
*Familiarity with educational policies, including health and safety regulations.
*Ability to use school management systems like BROMCOM effectively.
*A commitment to professional development and a proactive approach to student inclusion.
