Job Description:
Job Title: Senior Associate Solicitor - Family Law
Location: Bury / Salford, Greater Manchester
Salary: Competitive (depending on experience)
Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate Solicitor with strong Family Law experience to join a busy, well-established team in Greater Manchester. This role is ideal for a solicitor who is confident managing a complex and varied caseload, including both private and children law matters, and is looking to take the next step in their career with leadership and client-facing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage a diverse family law caseload, including:
*Divorce and financial remedy proceedings
*Private law children matters (residence, contact, relocation, etc.)
*Injunctions (non-molestation, occupation orders)
*Cohabitation disputes and property claims (including TOLATA matters)
*Draft pleadings, financial settlement documentation, orders, witness statements, and court forms.
*Attend client meetings, mediations, and court hearings; instruct counsel where necessary.
*Supervise and mentor junior fee earners and paralegals.
*Contribute to business development initiatives, networking, and client engagement.
*Travel locally between Bury and Salford offices, as well as to client meetings and court appointments.
Candidate Requirements:
*Qualified solicitor with significant post-qualification experience in family law.
*Proven experience in divorce, financial remedy, private law children matters, and cohabitation disputes.
*Strong advocacy, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
*Ability to manage a busy caseload independently while providing guidance to junior team members.
*Proactive and commercially aware, with a willingness to contribute to business development.
*Knowledge of Legal Aid work is desirable, but not essential.
