Job Description:
We are seeking a Payroll Officer to join a public sector organisation in Newcastle. This temporary role requires expertise in payroll processing and a strong understanding of accounting and finance practices.

Description
*Accurately process payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with regulations.
*Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity.
*Handle payroll queries and provide timely resolutions.
*Prepare and submit statutory returns, including PAYE and NI contributions.
*Collaborate with the Accounting & Finance team to ensure financial accuracy.
*Assist with audits and provide necessary payroll documentation.
*Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and internal policies.
*Support ad-hoc payroll-related tasks as required.
Profile
A successful Payroll Officer should have:
*Experience in payroll processing within a professional environment.
*Strong knowledge of payroll systems and relevant legislation.
*Experience with iTrent would be desirable.
*A background in Accounting & Finance or a related field.
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
*Proficiency in using payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
*Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Job Offer
*33 hours per week
*Temporary to permanent opportunity
*Hybrid working (2 days in the office and 3 from home)
*£28,351 (take home pay) £31,788 (FTE)
