Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Southampton, Hampshire (Secondary school)
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary:£28,792 - £31,022 per year FTE

We are seeking compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who need extra help to thrive in their education.
Key Responsibilities
*Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
*Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs.
*Assist with communication, sensory, and behavioural strategies to promote inclusion.
*Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs.
*Support pupils in developing confidence, independence, and social skills.
*Help maintain a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
*Experience working with children with SEN or additional needs (desirable).
*Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting learning.
*Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
*Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs is an advantage.
*Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, SEN training) are desirable but not essential.
