Job Description:
A highly regarded, regional law firm based in the heart of Leeds is seeking a Criminal Solicitor to join its Personal Injury and Inquests team. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to specialise in a unique and growing area of law, criminal defence work with a focus on Dangerous Dogs Act cases.
You’ll be joining a progressive, values-driven practice that places real emphasis on collaboration, flexibility and community responsibility. The firm offers a friendly and open culture where employee voices are genuinely heard and profit-sharing rewards reflect collective success.
Key Responsibilities
*Handle a specialist caseload of Dangerous Dogs Act matters, including prohibited breeds and out-of-control dogs
*Represent clients at police stations, Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court
*Provide high-quality, client-focused advice and advocacy
*Maintain up-to-date knowledge of criminal law and practice
*Work independently while being supported by a collaborative and experienced team
About You
*Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales), ideally 2+ years PQE in criminal law (flexible depending on experience)
*Solid case management and advocacy skills
*Strong IT literacy and numeracy
*Able to manage complex and sensitive cases with professionalism and care
*Experience in Dangerous Dog cases is advantageous — though not essential if you’re keen to specialise in this niche area
*Highly organised with an ability to prioritise under pressure
