About UsAt City of Doncaster Council, our Residential and Inspiring Futures Teams provide care and support for children in care through our children’s homes, supported accommodation, and care leaver services. Most of our homes are rated Outstanding or Good by Ofsted. We are committed to creating nurturing, therapeutic environments where young people can heal, grow, and thrive.
The RoleWe are seeking a Children’s Homes Manager to oversee two 2-bed homes, focusing on relationships and therapeutic support. You will lead a dedicated team, ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Children’s Act 2004, and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023, while driving quality, innovation, and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
*Register with Ofsted and maintain good/outstanding ratings.
*Lead and mentor staff, fostering a culture of learning and development.
*Implement therapeutic practices to support emotional and social well-being.
*Manage budgets and ensure financial accountability.
*Conduct quality assurance audits and implement improvement plans.
*Collaborate with families, partners, and stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes.
About You*Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential care within the last 5 years.
*At least 1 year in a supervisory/management role.
*Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Child Care (or willingness to complete within 3 years).
*Strong knowledge of therapeutic approaches and safeguarding.
*Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
