Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Primary School in North East Leeds
I am currently working with a lovely school in North East Leeds who are seeking a Teaching Assistant to start with them in January. This will be full time 08:30am until 15:30pm Monday to Friday. This role will be supporting a young child in Reception who has Cerebral Palsy, the child needs some mobility support. You will be working 1:1 with the child for half of the week, and the other half of the week you will be based in Year 1. The year 1 class has a number of students who are energetic and need more behavioural management support. The school is OFSTED rated ’Outstanding’ where you will be a part of a lovely school community. The role is a temporary role but may turn into permanent for the ideal applicant.
We welcome applicants with a good understanding of working with children with disabilities and those with other special educational needs such as Autism and SEMH.
You will ideally have experience in supporting children with special educational needs or will have a passion for working with students with special educational needs. Working with Theatre in Education (TIE) or workshops with children are beneficial. By being proactive and taking initiative, you are going to be able to build relationships with students and gain knowledge of a wide variety of needs.
